Frequently asked questions
Is Chatcraft free?+
Yes — importing a chat, choosing a theme and previewing your book are free. You only spend export credits when you generate the final PDF, and your first credits are on us.
Do you store or read my chats?+
No. Your WhatsApp export is parsed entirely on your device and never uploaded. We have no technical way to read your conversations or your generated PDFs.
How do export credits work?+
Credits are pay-as-you-go — no subscription. The cost of an export scales with the size of the book (its page count), so small chats cost less. Re-exporting the same book again is free for a while.
What can I import?+
WhatsApp’s built-in chat export — both the plain .txt file and the .zip archive that includes media. For the richest book, choose “Include media” when exporting.
